I-80 Merging into I-80

The 5:00 PM traffic though West Sacramento was really fierce today due to the closure of I-5 for the Fix I-5 Project. It was bumper to bumper all the way from Truxel Road to the Harbor Boulevard off ramp.

That roadwork looks scary! I keep reading about it online in the Bee and am SOOOO happy I am not working for Sac County anymore! That drive would be a killer!

Me too! I retired in 2005, and my office was at 14th and L Streets, across from Capitol Park. My 7AM commute from WS in the 90s was about 10 minutes (or less), but by 2005 it varied from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on conditions and mishaps.

The photo looks like a serpentine- shaped parking lot!

I drove downtown yesterday over the Tower Bridge and it was bumper to bumper over the bridge at 10 AM because of the hwy closure! I'd have hate to seen it at 7:30 AM!
