Remembering our Veterans: "The Tuskegee Airmen"

"In June 1941, the Tuskegee program officially began with formation of the 99th Fighter Squadron at the Tuskegee Institute, a highly regarded university founded by Booker T. Washington in Tuskegee, Alabama. In all, 992 pilots were trained in Tuskegee from 1940 to 1946; about 445 deployed overseas, and 150 Airmen lost their lives in training or combat.

On 29 March 2007, about 350 Tuskegee Airmen and their widows were collectively awarded the Congressional Gold Medal at a ceremony in the US Capitol rotunda."

Kinetic sculptures are cross-country, human-powered vehicles made to go on sand, water, pavement and other surfaces.

Neighbors Fair: Aneesh Bellydance Troupe

Neighbors Fair: Dancing Horses

A Family Tradition: The tradition of the Charros and Charreadas run in the family and go back many generations. It is likely that the Mexican charro tradition derived from Spanish horsemen who came from Salamanca, Spain.

Neighbors Fair: "Best of Broderick" Mural

The day started with the community parade that ended at the River Walk park which was setup with a free entertainment and craft area for kids, community group booths, a music concert and a great selection of food and libations.
