Remembering Nicholas Green

We went over to the Sonoma Coast last weekend to get out of the smoke filled air in the valley and saw this beautiful bell tower and memorial built for Nicholas Green, a seven year-old boy from Bodega Bay who was killed by highway robbers in 1994 while vacationing in Italy with his family. ~ Barbara

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for your visit to Pasadena Daily Photo.
I remember the story of Nicholas Green. His legacy lives on in a wondrous and moving way.
This bell tower is marvelous! I'll have to visit it. Great shot.

This is a beautiful memorial. So glad you decided to get out of the city and that you had your camera with you. :)

Would love to meet your friend when s/he comes to Bp. Have them contact me.

Well, thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving a comment there.

I like your post today about Nicholas Green and the memorial for him. I followed the link and read his story. One I was not even familiar with.

What ever happened to the Italian Robbers who killed him? I couldn't find that answer.

And I must say I love the swallows above your front door. God bless you for allowing them to live there. It is a blessing to them and will be to you.

Barbara -- how I remember this story. My own son was 7 at the time. I remember Nicolas' mother speaking to the media about their decision to have his organs and cornea donated to those in Italy.

Thank you for posting this memorial. I hope the fires are getting under control. We have a number going here in Oregon which they feel will be contained if the winds don't pick up today.

And thanks for your visit and comment letting me know you were there.

PS. We just returned from a long wkend at Mammoth Lakes. On Friday, the haze from the fires was the worst I'd ever seen it up there. Luckily it rained a bit and cleared some of the stagnant air. I hear there is fear of flash floods in the burnt areas now.

My 1st comment did not post ... so... I really liked the bell tower and the memorial. Very moving. (Did the climber manage to ring the bell?) I also very much enjoyed a trip thru your WSDP and your vacation blog. So glad you stopped by.
