The West Sacramento Department of Public Works routinely schedules the fire-fighters to flush and test the fire hydrants and last week they were in our neighborhood.

Now you've made me wonder if Metro Manila's fire hydrants are tested. Come to think of it, I don't even know if there's one near our house! Eek. I'm going to check when I get home later. Sigh. The perils of living in a third-world nation…
This reminds me of a photo I received last week from my daughter in Union, WA. She was making coffee about 8AM, looked out front, and saw a county crew washing street signs! That was a first for her....and for me, too.
