The stated purpose of the invasion was to capture Osama bin Laden, destroy al-Qaeda, and remove the Taliban regime which had provided support and safe harbor to al-Qaeda.

Goodwill Hunting
The Goodwill store on West Capitol Avenue is very busy in the daytime and evenings...with the the crunch on the economy it is a great opportunity for folks to think about purchasing recycled merchandise. It is good for the pocket book and for the environment!

Wildlife Anatomy: The American Beaver
Beavers are fantastic swimmers, but they are very awkward on land. Their webbed feet are the size of Ping-Pong paddles and cause them to move very slowly on land. More about the American Beaver here.
Trivia: See the City of Elk Grove Beaver management program.

Mickey D's on Harbor Boulevard
Harbor Boulevard at West Capitol Avenue. A busy intersection and an absolute gold mine for people watching! See the older gentleman crossing the street with his rolling suit case ...when he got closer I saw he was very well dressed and about 70ish or so. I wonder what his story is? I'm hoping he was just out for a walk and found a deal on a suit case at a local flea market or garage sale....and not another worst-case scenario ....

U-Haul on West Capitol Avenue
This tall sign is still standing at the U-Haul on West Capitol Avenue. When you drive down the avenue all the old signs are gone now, replaced by the more "sedate" monument style signage that the City of West Sacramento's sign ordinance now requires.

Kings Restaurant for Dim Sum
You won't see many cars at King's Chinese Restaurant on West Capitol Avenue during the week, but check out how many are parked there on Sunday morning for Dim Sum. Take a look at the old tall sign on Tom Spaldings Website... it was removed when the sign ordinance was enforced.
