This old Dodge flatbed truck is parked in a vacant lot on Jefferson Boulevard with a lot of interesting farming implements. It has a diesel engine and metal tank on the bed, and a hose contraption with a spraying attachment affixed that winds around to the front. Does anyone know what it was used for?

I have no idea... but it sure makes for an interesting shot!
Spraying crops or weeds? Interesting photo subject, whatever it is.
cool old truck
Rosanna's husband Steve, an old farm boy from Woodland,CA says that he thinks it was used for irrigation with the pump on the back used to syphon water from a ditch or canal.
This contraption is what used to be called a Rain Machine. My West Sac family still has their rain machine that was used to pull water from canals to irrigate alfalfa fields. As a child I was always surprised when somebody hadn't ever heard of a rain machine. To me and my sister this was an everyday piece of farm equipment that was essential.
