Brassies, Mashies and Niblicks

The weather calls for a relaxing day on the golf course..when he is finished you'll find Ian back behind the bar at the Streets of London Pub serving bangers & mash. Photo by Danny Luna.

Trivia: Mashie-Niblick is an obsolete golf club invented by Archibald Barrie used from 1903 up until about the 1940s. Upon the introduction of the standardized numbered iron set produced by the Spaulding Sporting Goods Company in the early 1930s, the Mashie-Niblick gradually gave way to numbered convention that used the numbers 1-9 to label the iron clubs. http://www.britishgolfmuseum.co.uk/it_all_started.htm
