You've probably seen Bill Gorman running around town this week in his favorite fliver with signs advertising the West Sacramento Neighbors Fair and Parade that is happening today at the River Walk Park. The community is invited to this annual event and there is no admission charge. See the Neighbors Fair website for more information.

Community Day Parade: James Marshall Preschool Float

The theme for the parade this year was "the great outdoors." In our opinion, the most creative float in the whole parade, the James Marshall Parent Participation Preschool float showcased the theme perfectly!

CLUB WEST is an after school teen program for students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade and has been providing programming in West Sacramento since 1991. Through out the year CLUB WEST sponsors monthly dances, and trips which include: Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags Marine World, Roller and Ice Skating, San Francisco, Sunsplash Water Park, movie nights, and more, also provided are leadership conferences, craft club, Club West Committee, Cheerleading, Mentoring, Summer Teen Camp, Club Live, daily snack bar, game room, tournaments, extended hours on minimum days, phones, use of computers for homework, and more.

** To celebrate its ethnic and cultural diversity, West Sacramento is throwing a big party Saturday in River Walk Park.

Combining the annual Community Day Parade and the city's first Neighbors Fair, the all-day event has been designated Community Pride Day. "Our community is like a quilt, a lot of pieces in a very colorful quilt," said Denice Edgar, president of the Chamber of Commerce.
