The Annular Solar Eclipse of May 20
My grandchildren really enjoyed viewing the first solar eclipse of 2012 today. Christy fashioned the viewing devices for them out of mailing tubes. And of course our family always enjoys special music all occasions and today we started with Ring of Fire and Total Eclipse of the Heart!
The first solar eclipse of 2012 occurs at the Moon's descending node in central Taurus.
Two solar and two lunar eclipses will occur in 2012..
2012 May 20: Annular Solar Eclipse
2012 Jun 04: Partial Lunar Eclipse
2012 Nov 13: Total Solar Eclipse
2012 Nov 28: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse

Party Fun at the Bounce Spot
Jack's 7th Birthday Party was at the Bounce Spot last week. The kids bounced themselves into exhaustion for about an hour then had pizza and cupcakes in the party room. We had kids in our group ranging from 5 months to 60 years old and we all had a great time.

Wii by Nintendo
This is a photo of my Wii "Mii"(my customized character) finishing a game of bowling. It is just a great game for the whole family...Tom gets a little frustrated when the little boys beat him in bowling and golf though. He lines up and allows for his curve and then get's a 9 count, and the boys just fling the controller willy-nilly and get a strike! We now have the Wii Fit and are working out on it regularly and having fun! ~Barbara

Remembering the Watermelon Bust
This watermelon truck parked in the grocery store parking lot brought back memories of when I was a kid and the farmers would drive into town with a load of watermelons on their big truck and park at the end of our block and sell them for $1.00 each. My dad would buy several then all the neighbors would get together and have a watermelon "bust". Simply, Dad would drop the melon from several feet off the ground and it would burst open and then we would tear off pieces and eat till we were so full, then everyone would lie down on the grass and look up at the sky and ask the eternal question...."if we swallow the watermelon seeds, would they sprout in our stomach"...of course that was before the genetic development of the seedless watermelon...
