Emma's Posole Stew..very good
I have been yearning for some Posole like my Aunt BJ and Uncle Norm from New Mexico would always make when they came to Sacramento for their annual trek..... I decided to order it at Emma's recently and will give it high ratings...2nd place only to my Auntie's... Of course I can never pass up the house salad, salsa bar and great Margarita's...Photo of the Margarita is copied from Yelp.

The News-Ledger Since 1964
The above photo shows the layout board where Steve Marschke, editor of the News-Ledger is pasting up the weekly classified section. When I worked on our newspaper at James Marshall High School many years ago this is how we pasted up the paper...nice to see it still works.

Honeymooners!
I love the visiting ducks that stop by our neighborhood. I hope she enjoys this brief show of protection from this Drake, because Mallards form pairs only until the female lays eggs, at which time she is left by the male.

Sacramento's Second Saturday
On a recent Saturday, we met up with "Twist" a balloon artist and also watched a fashion show on the sidewalk in front of a boutique.
Every month, art galleries in the Sacramento area keep their doors open late and invite the public to participate in the Second Saturday Art Walk. Visitors can grab a bite to eat, walk from gallery to gallery viewing brand new art works, hear live music and explore the region's vibrant art districts.

Alyce Norman School "Now and Then"
Debbie's grandma Elsie Norton worked at Alyce Norman School in the 1960's and 70's before she retired from Washington Unified School District. There were no names on the back of this photo of the staff taken in 1963. Many thanks to retired district school teachers Mary McReynolds and Patty Waggoner Yamat for helping to identify everyone.
